FAQs

  • How much does it cost to hire you?
Each case is different. Some cases do not require any out-of-pocket expenses while others are billed on an hourly basis. Unlike most attorneys, our office is reasonable and works with clients to ensure financial barriers do not preclude their ability to have the highest quality legal representation. Contact our office today and see what arrangement can be made to meet your specific needs.
  • Do you only practice constitutional litigation?
No, but it is a primary focus of my practice. I have extensive experience in employment law, personal injury, and business-related matters. Do not hesitate to reach out with specific questions about your case. Often times if I am unable to handle your case, I will be able to recommend a highly qualified attorney who would be able to take you on as a client.
  • Do you practice in every state?
I am licensed in the District of Columbia and Virginia but I practice nationwide, depending on the case. Under the doctrine of "pro hac vice" a licensed attorney is permitted to practice with local counsel (licensed in X state) on a limited case basis. Do not hesitate to contact me if you are located outside DC or Virginia as I may be able to work with a local attorney to get you the best results.
  • How long do cases typically take?
Some cases can resolve before ever filing a lawsuit while others can last years. Numerous factors come into play, such as nature of the case, extent of injuries, whether it is state or federal, whether the damages are "sum certain" or require calculation, or whether urgent circumstances make the litigation of the essence. We can answer this more thoroughly once hearing about the specifics of your case.
